Our experience at the courtyard was exceptional. The food was expertly prepared and presented, showcasing the skill and creativity of the chefs. Each dish was a masterpiece in itself, bursting with flavour. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the cozy environment left a lasting impression on us all. Overall, our visit was unforgettable. The restaurant offered a perfect blend of elegance and comfort, and the culinary experience was truly wonderful. I highly recommend at the courtyard to anyone looking for a remarkable dining experience. Dietary restrictions: The chefs took my dietary restrictions into consideration and made me the most delicious low-fat, low-sugar meal I’ve tasted in a restaurant.
The concert venue is AMAZING with a regular array of well known local international artists as well as up and coming one's (maybe only one venue is Cape Town can match the variety and frequency). The Bistro I've travelled to 70 countries and eaten a huge variety of European, Asian, African, South American and Arabic meals from personal experience the Forest Rump (yes that's the name) is the BEST EVER. With the Pork Loin a close second. If you haven't been here for the music and/or the meals you need to get out more Kid friendliness: This is McGregor kids are part of everything that happens! Parking Parking: This is the village of McGregor plenty of parking but why not walk to the venue.
We came across this beautiful gem on our last night of a four night stay in Mcgregor! We were so disappointed to have only found this gem so late in our trip, as we would have eaten there every evening. We could not fault this quaint establishment in any way, from the cosy warm fireplace and tables, to regulars stumbling in for their Sunday dinner, the owner happily joining them like a friend, at their tables! The chef came to introduce herself at the beginning of the evening which we found to be a special touch also! Everything was so relaxed. Our starters arrived, two flatbreads, which we hope fed down and quickly proceeded to order another two! Our main meals were truly top notch! From the burger with all the trimmings, chunky chips and batter-coated onion rings, to my husbands rump steak on potatoes; I had the best spaghetti carbonara of my life, my son raves about his chicken and spinach gnocchi and my daughters beef ravioli, topped with mushrooms and pecan nuts, was off the charts! Hubby and I are planning another trip to this beautiful place to coincide with one of their music performances, ideally Watershed in November. We are convinced this place would be even more magical at that time of year! Truly superior on all fronts, we loved it and can not wait to visit again! Kid-friendliness: Waitress was super friendly with our special needs daughter! Also loved the warmth of the owner happily chatting away about how much he loves the town, and we see why!!!!
