Dome - Maylands

Went jetlagged to local dome to read the paper at early start as could not sleep. Read paper but it had no inserts and checking rack none of them did. Asking at counter i was told that as customers keep stealing them they are now witheld and kept out the back then thrown out at the end of the day!! Challenging this crazy policy as punishing and spiteful to loyal and every customer as thieves i was told its policy. I asked would it not be better that the inserts were out and customers got to read them till they slowly vanished over the day so something was achieved but blank stare was response. I asked that as a regular customer who attends daily could i have the inserts as their policy was offensive. I eventually got them delivered and asked to return them to front counter when finished so i am a regular potential thief i guess. Excellent food and excellent service. Great for kids. Fun activities and good seating. Recommend this place always. Good family place. We had the eggs and bacon which was very nice.

I can only base this review on an afternoon at Dome with friends. I wasn't too keen on their suggested meeting place and was pleasantly surprised at the lovely old building. My experience of Dome coffees over many years (except when when the franchises first started in Perth) has been one of disappointment; today it was excellent . I would not hesitate to have a coffee there again. Nothing else on display or on the menu was enticing.

The food at Dome is just so average and in all cases looks better in picture than reality .... The place needs a clean too... Coffee pretty good
