I've been in Marseille for almost a month. I went here early on as it's near my apartment. It was a busy week day lunchtime. Despite that service was efficient and competent and the food good. I had the duo of beef tartare and carpaccio, my husband had a lamb shank. We enjoyed it and it seemed popular with local workers. Unfortunately, my second visit was rather disappointing. Again it was a weekday lunchtime but later on, after 2.30. However, when I asked, the woman on the desk said they were still serving (after tearing herself away from her phone admittedly). So i sat down and waited...and waited...and waited. I understand they'd wound down for the afternoon, and the waitress I originally spoke to was busy totting up bills. But I wasn't in a rush although I would at least have expected to be given a menu and offered a drink. When the waitress went off outside for a smoke I decided to leave. A shame as they did good fries.
We had lunch at this brasserie. While the food we got was of decent quality, I must say I'd expected this place to have a working toilet! The flush did not work... and there was only one toilet for ladies. This should not be permitted to happen.
Although the waiter was kind the place was a bad choice. We had to endure all 5 waiters sitting next to us chain smoking through a pack of cigarettes while we tried to breath. The coffee was the worst we have had in France and the beer was way overpriced even for the location. We decided to pass on the food so I cannot comment on that.
Great Marseille restaurant in true Templar style. We had Tartar beef and pasta and wine and deserts. All were delicious and served with a very positive attitude. One of the best meals during the whole on week trip was also very inexpensive :)
