Koshari Korner - Marrickville

I hunted koshari since I tried it in Cairo and along with many locals became one of my main dishes during the city. the koshari from koshari korner brought me back to the streets of kairo. a delicious and hearty meal of rice, pasta, lenses cherry in a tomato spicy sauce. yum!

I tried the koshari for the first time and it was light and delicious! However, what really impressed me was the falafel. It was so fresh and fluffy with a crispy outside. I will definitely be returning to try their shakshuka and pretty much everything else on the menu. Plus, they offer free dessert as well! The oat latte was disappointing though, I recommend they consider changing brands if possible.

I stumbled upon an Egyptian food stall at 901 Bourke Street among many other vegan options. I was eager to try some Arabic dishes, and they had a package deal of 4 dishes for $12. Unfortunately, it was sold out by 8 o'clock. I ended up getting three dishes in takeaway cups for $13 each, with various fillings and served with falafel. One of the dishes was missing tahini dressing, and another had salsa instead of tomatoes. My partner also bought some vegan shoes for $135, so we didn't end up eating much. We later found koshari at the Marrickville markets, where I had a delicious koshari bowl with 2 extra falafel and a smoothie for $23. It seems like koshari is their specialty. I recommend trying their vegan food if you're in Addison Road. This review was updated on April 25, 2018.

I discovered this restaurant on Instagram and finally made the trip here. I was not disappointed. The falafel was some of the best I've ever had, and the eggplants and koshari were delicious. The sambousek was heavenly. The owner even gave us free baklava, which was also amazing. To top it off, they have really good coffee. I don't usually leave reviews, but I was so impressed that I will definitely be back. The only thing keeping me from giving a perfect score is the carton milk next to the coffee machine.

Delicious and authentic Egyptian food. Staff are friendly and inviting and the area is super cute and warm. I recommend this place to everyone. Give it a try and have some delicious hot chocolate and koshari!
