2022 March 4.5Located inside J-Town, you'll find this bakery/dessert shop only recently opened within the last year. At the time of writing, they have announced their first year of business.A quaint store with a good variety of options with a Japanese flair. For those who wish to dine in, there's a few tables enough for about 12-15 people.Hojicha Roll Cake $6.75 per slice.A light and fluffy cake with a very good Hojicha flavor (more intense than some other places). Rolled inside, you'll find pieces of Mochi and red bean (azuki beans) in a creme. Nothing is too sweet, and everything complements each other well.Mango mini cake $7Made with lots of chopped mangos and a glaze of apricot, this has a nice sweet and hint of tangy flavor. Very good, but the tart could be a little thinner given it's a hard shell.Overall, a nice place to visit and relax.Would recommend and try again for other options.
Tiny bakery shop with pastries that have gorgeous presentation. We tried the Violetta, a purple potato tart and a full-size Belle fruit tart to celebrate a birthday. Both were delicious but the Violetta was a standout. The tart base was made of a harder, buttery shortcake, quite different from traditional tarts but delicious nonetheless.Only drawback was that the whole fruit tart was quite expensive, $50 for a small, 6 inch tart.
Amazing little cafe hidden in J Town. The bakers here are high level. Everything I’ve tried was great. Cream filled profiteroles, green tea brownies and blueberry muffins were home runs. You can tell they use butter in their baking. The blueberry muffin was filled with blueberry and the top of the muffin had small spots of caramel cracking which was interesting and worked well. I highly recommend trying this spot out. The scones looked good as well. Never had a chance to try them yet.
Such a cute little dessert shop with high quality pastries and confectionery. The yuzu swirl cake I got was just so good that I’m inspired to find more like it. It was a great balance of sweet, tart, and light. The staff were also really friendly and helped me answer some hojicha sourcing questions. I already want to go back!
