However, considering the quality, quantity, location, and price, I would say this restaurant is only average. While it may not be a terrible choice for a meal in Toronto(GTA), I am unlikely to visit this place again.
I'm not sure why this restaurant gets so good reviews. The rams are similar to instant noodles. Portions were small for $15. I doubt we'll visit again. The service is good, but it was.
I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen for takeout and the staff was extremely friendly. The ramen was packed so well that it remained hot and tasty even after 20 minutes. The portions were generous and the soup was so delicious that I finished every drop. If you're in the mood for excellent ramen noodles for takeout, I highly recommend this place.
Some of the best noodles can be found in downtown Toronto, but outside of the city center, it can be hit or miss. Sonoya in Markham, located in First Markham Place, is a great choice. They have a variety of ramen options as well as other noodle dishes like gyoza, tonkatsu, and takoyaki. I tried the Sapporo Miso Ramen and it was delicious - a generous portion served hot with good presentation. The house tea was also good despite being served warm. I would recommend Sonoya and would definitely return.
I think the name of this restaurant "Sonoya Japanese Noodle House" is a little misleading.
