Turks - Mandaluyong

My sister introduced this shawarma to me. Since then this is my go-to place for a shawarma fix. Beef Pita Doner on the menu. ???? Always just the beef. Meat is tender and savory with no gamey flavor. Pita is slightly sweet and complements the meat. 2 types of sauces: Spicy and regular. I recommend a combination of both. All-Meat with cheese is my favorite. Veggie-meat is great too. Partnered with ice-cold soda and a good book... perfect!

So I decided to try Turk’s Chicken and Kebab Platter and I was disappointed.  I didn’t mind falling in line for about 15 mins as I was craving for Turk’s. I was so hungry that I decided to order their Beef and Kebab platter worth Php 150. Platter includes one rice, about 1/4 cup of beef, 1pc of Kebab and 2pcs. of small pita bread. I chose this meal because I think this is sulit and tummy filling.  When it is my turn to pay for my meal, I have to wait again for at least 5 mins for a cashier to bill me out. I gave Php 200 to the “cashier” and waited patiently for my change. I already had a feeling that she forgotten to give me my Php 50 change so I scan their work area for a CCTV just in case she told me she already handed me my change. So my food was served and I reminded the “cashier” that I have not yet received my change and she said that she already did. I told her she haven’t and she was recalling what she did in the last 5 mins and gave me my change without even bothering to say anything and looking at me as if I pissed her off. I kept my cool and I just let it got knowing that they must be tired from the whole day of working that’s why the service is poor and unorganized.  As for the much awaited taste testing, it was so disappointing. The Kebab tastes like longganisa while the beef and rice was not warm enough. What happened Turk’s? Where’s the beefy goodness we all loved? In short, meal was not satisfying. Sigh.  Overall rating: Poor service, unsatisfying food

I had a kebab and I didn't like it at all. It tasted more like longganisa, not beef kebab. My husband had a quesadilla and it was the worst quesadilla we ever tried. Poor service too as they forgot to make the quesadilla upon ordering. We ended up waiting for it and it wasn't even worth the wait.
