Gold Exchange Cafe - Maldon

Love this place! Its in my hometown and is one of the best places to get subs and salads! I prefer them over any other place around here and Owego

After a day of drinking on Cayuga lake I stopped in for some dinner.

We really enjoyed this café. Great service and friendly staff, and the food came out quickly. We ordered the burgers and the zucchini fritters, which were delicious. We couldn't resist trying some of the home made cakes as well. The choc fudge cake and the carrot cakes were both delicious and the Belgian hot chocolate is amazing even better that Brunettis or Max Brenner. I would definitely go back.

Stopped for lunch today. Had a lentil pattie, lamb and barley soup. My wife had a korma pie and flourless chocolate cake. We also both had cappos. All the food was excellent. The pattie was nutty and savoury, the soup wonderfully comforting. The pie had a wonderful chunky filling with balanced spices. The coffee was strong, not bitter and not too hot best coffee in the goldfields. Recommend this place to anyone travelling to Maldon. The ladies running it couldn't be better and they are real foodies. ps. Would sell my firstborn for some more of that chocolate cake
