Osteria Alla Rosa - MALCESINE

No GF pasta. At all. Selection is otherwise okay. Execution is so-so. They served us a dish with gluten, which they picked up on one spoon too late.

I had trout with a sauce which was tasteless and dried up served with an apology for salad and polenta. My husband had vegetable lasagne which was equally tasteless. The staff were not very pleasant would not recommend

We arrived about 8.30pm there was only one table occupied at the time and the staff seemed reluctant to let us have a table, but then did. Once we were in and seated they were more welcoming I think they thought they were going to have an early night until we turned up. The good was very go though.

The worst meal we have had for a long time. It arrived in seconds flat, not even a pretence that it was freshly cooked. It tasted like bland pulp. I have been coming to Malcesine for many years, this used to be a good restaurant but now one of the worst I have visited anywhere in the world. Do not be fooled by the queues, people are attracted by the location. Avoid

This is our second visit to Malcesnie, we haven’t been to this restaurant before but had commented how nice it looked. It was the worst food I’ve had for a long time, we had a few pasta dishes that arrived in about 2 minutes, all dishes were warm, no seasoning, I had lasagna that looked and tasted like a Tesco value microwave meal with cold cheese grated on top, my nephew had rubber gnocchi with oil and grated cheddar cheese . My wife had a fish dish which I’m sure was a boil in the bag Cod in Butter sauce from 1998. We left most of it, waiters did question why we hadn’t eaten much, I think they know it’s dreadful. Save your money and go somewhere else.
