I always thought this was a diamond in the rough but now it's shining! Would've been such a waste to continue to let it go down hill. Good job!
Overall we had a pleasant experience here. There are about 24 craft beers on tap and it is reasonably priced. All our beers tasted fresh, which is not always the case when a place has a lot of taps. We were able to get service from the bar quickly, and a waitress actually came around to us later and asked if we wanted more. It looks like a great place to go when the weather is nice. There is a huge outdoor area with fireplaces. Unfortunately it was still a bit too cold when we went, but the indoor area was still large and nice. The interior gives that old corner bar feel, but a bit more modern and clean. There was also live music when we came on a Saturday night. Since there are two floors, you can avoid the music if you prefer.
Kudos to the owner for reinventing this historic bar The new patio invites summer fun seekers to have a drink and listen to some local bands under the shade of an umbrella during the day or the twinkle of mini string lights at night. Being located on the river adds to the ambience. Inside, you will be blown away by the seriously upscale man cave decor....leather seating, neon signs, stone accents, exposed beams and fireplace. And the bathrooms!! OMG! I have never seen a more luxurious bathroom in a small town bar! I actually WANT to go pee in there . This bar only serves drinks, but don 't worry. Food trucks are frequently serving up goodies from the parking lot and local pizza joints also deliver here. Brilliant! The atmosphere, location on the river, friendly staff and fun vibe make this a 5-star local bar. Add this one to your list.
If you're going to the train stop you know exactly what you're info for. It's neither terrible or amazing, it is what it is. Bartenders are friendly and you'll always meet a wide variety of people there. There's really not much else to say.
What a fantastic bar! They offer a wide selection of ice-cold drinks and beers, and the large TVs make for a great atmosphere. The staff is very friendly, which adds to the overall experience. I definitely want to visit more often, whether by bike or car—or even on horseback or in a canoe! There’s an interesting backstory, too; this place used to be a biker bar, but there was a memorable incident with some animals that chased the bikers away! Eventually, an old train enthusiast took over, and now we have the Train Stop Inn. Just to clarify, it’s not actually an inn since there are no rooms available, but the drinks and food are excellent and very affordable! Overall, it's a great spot!
