Sporty's Grill - Madison

The food was delicious, and the staff was incredibly friendly and polite. I'm certain I'll return! I visited on October 4, 2023, during a dine-out event for charity, and the place was packed at 5:30 PM. The Twins were playing, which added to the great atmosphere, along with fantastic service.

My burger was decent, although the waitress never asked how I wanted it cooked, and it ended up well done. The beer was good—especially since they have Guinness on tap—but my friends were not satisfied with their meals. One friend, who doesn’t eat mammals, ordered the fish and chips, only to receive a portion of tasty fries and some overcooked, unappetizing little fried fish pieces that looked like subpar chicken strips. She described them as "lame." Meanwhile, my other friend ordered Buffalo wings but had to specifically ask for dipping sauce and celery, only to find out she didn’t order the version that came with them. To top it off, we experienced long waits for our food, drinks, and even for a second round of beers. While I understand they were busy, it seems like they often are, and our waitress appeared to be overwhelmed. Although she was friendly and attentive, it felt like she had too many tables to manage effectively. Given the overall experience, I probably won’t be returning to this pub.

I strongly disagree with the two previous reviewers. We have found both the food and service to be of the highest quality. The steaks are the best that is available and the trout is fantastic. Fries and burgers are terrific. The bartenders are friendly and competent. The place is everything that you are looking for, guaranteed.

Sporty's Bar and Grill is unbeatable! Their wings are fantastic, especially with the special deals on Wednesday nights. The Philly cheesesteaks and chicken Parmesan sandwiches are also excellent. The service is quick and the staff is friendly. Plus, they serve cold drinks. I will definitely be returning!
