Southern Vegan Soul Cafe - Macon

I was absolutely thrilled with this restaurant! During a trip to Florida, I randomly checked for vegan options along our route and came across this place. I was very impressed with everything we ordered, except for the speck and cheese (the cheese was substantial, but the speck was lacking). I plan to eat there again in a week on the way back. Hopefully, this is an update to my previous review from May 23, 2022.

When we tried the fried "chicken," I questioned whether it was actually chicken because of the texture and flavor—wow! I will be dreaming about this fried jackfruit; it was that good! The atmosphere is perfect for soul food, especially with the live music. The staff are so friendly and welcoming; I genuinely felt at home! I can't wait to return when our travels bring us back to this area. I told the staff how grateful I was to find such a gem for vegans, but I also expressed my sadness that I won't have easy access to this amazing food since we’re traveling. I wholeheartedly recommend this place, especially for anyone transitioning to a plant-based diet. The best part is they don’t use soy, and everything is homemade and fresh. I could rave about it all day!

Definitely visit this place! The owners are fantastic, and the food is delicious. It's the only restaurant I frequently go to in Macon.

Had her Mexican burrito and it was amazing. great atmosphere and the wonder was also really nice. will definitely come back

Great vegan find. The menu shown is incomplete. An all vegan restaurant with numerous options. I had the pulled pork (jackfruit) BBQ sandwich with Mac Cheese. My better half had the pepper steak, Mac, greens meal. Both were good and we will return when in the area.
