I ordered the bacalao a bras (a scrambled egg dish with fish and onion) and he ordered a grilled white fish. The food was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We finished it off by ordering a slice of cake we kept seeing others order, which turned out to be an almond cake (light and went well with espresso). Part way through the cake, my boyfriend made the executive decision to order another slice. Including a glass of house wine for each of us, the total came to MOP$270. Great deal and happy we were able to try Macanese cuisine.

You know a place is good when locals go there. This was really good Macanese food. It's got the home cooked goodness in it and not too pricey compared to other Macanese eatery. We tried the African chicken and Minchi, and left smiling and satisfied.
Goodness gracious this is the REAL DEAL Macanese food. Nondescript and tucked away in a side alley in a quiet neighborhood not too far from the ferry terminal. Don't let the steam table cafeteria style service put you off. They also have a nice seating area where you can order from a menu. Wine and beer also served. The selections at the steam table change daily based on the owner who is over 100 years old. From speaking with regulars there, she is still very devoted and shows up daily to manage the place. Good dishes are Minchi, fried fish, stewed radish, soup (changes daily) and the African chicken. Highly recommend the trip if you are anywhere in Macau.
Wow. My first venture into Macanese food, and I was totally blown away. The African Chicken is a show-stealer. Both the Minchi and the Portuguese Fried Rice were also outstanding in their own right, but the depth of flavor on the African Chicken was just otherworldly.
