La Tavola Italiana - Ludlow

Really great Italian cuisine and great staff. We arrived on a Saturday without reservations and the owner managed to push us even though they were fully booked. Very appreciated service and food.

This place was really excellent and I'm usually not a fan of Italian food. The location is spectacular. Beautiful view from the outside and a really stylish and cozy interior. No complaints here. The staff is very attentive and really sweet. They spent a lot of time with us and gave our baby a lot of attention. The food! It was real, authentic, cooked at home Italian. I can't stress that enough. I HATE Italian restaurants because I know that she's $20 worth of noodles and it makes me angry. Tavola was different. The aromas were ambitious and courageous. Strong flavors, reasonable portions (instead of a pound of noodles you never hope to finish). The desserts (Almond Cake and Maple Pudding Cake were excellent. I'll be back soon and often for these desserts. We have our way through a fair share of cocktails, all fresh, tasteful and strong enough to know that you are not torn off. I can't stress that enough. This place is excellent and deserves your time.

I was given a gift card over the holidays and decided it would be a good time to use it. We arrived around 6:45 pm and sat in the bar area. The bartender was friendly and attentive. We ordered an Appetizer to share along with some warm bread. The entrees came and were quite good. This was our second time at La Tavola and will definitely go back.

Food was very good, service was good but not outstanding. Had a 7pm reservation but when we checked in at 7:03 our table had been given away. The hostess was apologetic and asked for 15 minutes to prep a table. 1hr later after seating several other couples we were seated. While awaiting our table the bartender (Goran) was very accommodating and helpful. The hostess needs more and better training as does the buss staff.

I enjoyed one of the best Fra Diavolo dishes today. They serve fresh homemade pasta, and the sauce had just the right amount of spices. The salad was prepared with very fresh ingredients. My wife absolutely loved the chicken marsala, claiming it was one of the best she’s ever tasted. The staff, from the hostess to the servers, were all very polite and professional. The portion sizes were quite reasonable—not excessively large like at some other places, which really highlights the quality of the food. The prices were also very fair, especially considering the quality of the meal. The atmosphere made it feel like a much more upscale restaurant.
