The location, the mood, the natural beauty, the river...Camp Cabarita is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Jamaican countryside best. The river Cabarita has this aaaamazing healing energy. I feel rejuvenated at any time when I soften in its crystal clear water. The temperature of water and minerals in it...maaan my skin loves it. My mind loves it. My spirit loves it! The crew that leads things in the camp will take care of you. Providing natural juices, fresh jelly coconut water, traditional Jamaican meals and all to good vibes, you always go the extra mile to ensure that you are comfortable and irie. Every morning at the camp I lift myself and thank you for diving Fiebergrass tea, sun shades and enjoy the amazing views of the Delphinkopfberge from the upper yoga deck. On a typical day in the camp you can decide to go on adventures at Mayfield Falls, to the cave embedded in the mountain, in a cooking shop / bar with the super friendly locals, or relax in the lodge with fans, music, and your choice of hammock!!!! Love it!. Last Chill Spot! The place is warm, air is super clean, the night sounds....oooh the night sounds like Jamaica. I miss it when I'm gone. One of my favorite evening activities makes a bamboo fire... the place is filled with bamboo and fruit trees during the day. The cottages are simple and comfortable. Each equipped with mosquito net, private bathroom, Jamaican artwork and Wi-Fi. I can choose to plug in and do some work, or unplug, that's something I don't get a chance to do often. The showers... one of the many beautiful examples of local craftsmanship. What a treat in the evening to keep a fresh and glimpse of the sky full of stars. Camp Cabarita is one of my favorite places to stay in Jamaica. As soon as you leave, you will know! Really a jewel!
My holiday in Camp Cabarita in February 2016 was a birthday present for me and what a gift IT WAS! Camp really felt like a home away from home. The entire staff is friendly and funny. I felt like family. The food is ABSOLUTELY amazing – fresh, natural and plentiful. I was full and satisfied with every meal. I traveled to Jamaica alone, so go outside the river and the cave hike (THE CAVE IS A MUST SEE) I spent most of my time between: reading and relaxing in one of the many hammocks (including on my balcony); listen to music in the lounge area; talk to staff or maybe play football). The grounds were beautifully cultivated and full of fresh fruit trees – of which I was more than welcome. The river hike was fun and relaxing and informative. (And the river is literally on the grounds of the camp). If you are looking for a peaceful escape from city life or are thrilled by rivers and caves – you will find this place LIEBE. The site has it right if you love people and nature, then Camp Cabarita is the oasis you have been looking for.
I attended a wellness retreat in April of 2015, and had an amazing time. Camp Cabarita is a very special place that cannot be described in any amount of five star reviews! You are surrounded by natural beauty in every way...the land, the peaceful and serene but simple cabins, the people, the food, music, etc. The property has direct access to the Cabarita River. This river is such a gem! The clear blue-green water is so refreshing and rejuvenating, you'll want to spend time there at least once a day. The trees open up right over the swimming hole to let the sun shine on you. There are plenty of chilling spots all around camp, my favorite was in one of the hammocks. Camp really encompasses the meaning of clean living. The food you eat everyday is grown on premise or sourced from local farmers or shop owners. You will feel as though there is nothing more you need at all times throughout your stay. Buddy, the general manager, and his staff, as well as all the neighborhood people you meet, will quickly feel like family. I found it very easy to always stay in the present moment during my stay. This is a blessing, as most of us struggle to do this in our regular daily lives. There are so many things to do in the area, many of which are a walk away. Although, you may not want to go anywhere, and just relax and enjoy camp. The property is also a half hour away from Sav (the marketplace), 45 minutes away from the beaches of Negril, and a scenic hour and a half drive from Montego Bay airport. This is a place you will fall in love with, and will not want to think about returning home.
My stay at Camp was an amazing experience. I went with a friend on an all girls wellness retreat. As a mom of two little boys this trip was exactly what I needed to recharge. The Camp is nestled in the lush mountainous countryside of Jamaica. It offers a taste of true cultural immersion you will never find at all-inclusives, yet the accommodations are all there…yoga, massage, local fresh food, hiking, swimming, etc. Buddy, the general manager of the property and his crew were welcoming, accommodating, and fun. They prepared amazing meals for us daily. Every morning there was a cup of the most delicious coffee and a fresh coconut waiting for us. The accommodations are simple, and a bit rustic, but in the most beautiful way. The rooms are clean, well kept, and I had everything I needed. In the afternoons when the rains would move though, I would sneak away from the group and retrieve to our second story deck where I could lounge in a hammock with a good book in the canopy of trees. The cabins are also just steps away from a river, it quickly became part of our morning routine to go down for a swim. The camp is a short hike away from Mayfield Falls. We went with a couple of local guides who took us on a bouldering hike through the falls. Being able to jump and swim in the natural pools made by the falls was unbelievable! Negril and the beach is about a 45min drive, we spent a whole day at the beach and even though it rained the water was warm and velvety. I feel extremely fortunate to have had this experience and hope to return soon! Thank you!
