フィードバックを提供するBeing in Lucca for work, I came across this little bistro. Enriched by the modern menu and the showcase of cheeses and open kitchen, I decide to dine. I am welcomed by the Oste who very cordially puts me at ease, and this is a value I look for very often. The menu presented is composed of very refined dishes and I’m looking for raw materials. I decide to start with a cheese cutter and then go to Baccalà with curcuma potatoes, Piedmont hazelnuts and lemon and basil pesto. All accompanied by a great champagne. On this I affirm myself as the winery proposed by the Oste has an eye to the bubbles. The flagship is the Moka coffee that makes you feel at home. Great experience to return as soon as I'm in the area.
We stayed for lunch for the first time, we ordered the calamari (presented in menu plural) and we have seen arrive u single squid, of very normal size for the small amount of 15€! This isn't exactly it. Good dish for charity but at an exorbitant price for the quantity presented, we rose from table with hunger. Too bad because the local is a love and the kitchen is of excellent quality but at these prices really not.
On the other evening we had dinner in this small restaurant and I was really impressed by the refined dishes, the freshness of raw materials and the informal and welcoming environment. Beautiful works of young artists on the walls, cheese counter and minimal furniture, as I like, with open kitchen, that gives the possibility to interact with the cook. You can taste excellent French Italian cheeses, etc. (I tasted a great goat with a 70% dark chocolate leaf inside, exquisite! The menu has few dishes but very original and prepared with love. I took a fillet of curly with potato fondue, green beans and edible flowers, cooked very well and tasty. Finally I took a dessert that presented a fruit salad with oat crumble and maple syrup with fennel seeds: Good. All accompanied by fresh water and a glass of Cerasuolo rosé. I count on average, but I repeat, it's worth it!
