La Fogata - Los Barriles

By los barriles we found a parking lot right in front of la fogata and decided to eat at lunchtime. not the scorching, but a very pleasant and friendly open Mexican restaurant. great menu. the food was delicious and well presented. we'll stop here again.

My wife and I had dinner in fogata on weds during their open microphone night. the place was packed, but they found space for us and we did not have to wait. service was friendly and fast. the food was not good. Cold beans, chewy chicken, dry totrillas. the prices were similar to other places (high side), but quality was low. fogata was our least popular restaurant that we ate during our trip. two stars for friendly service, but kitchen needs better. the client was an older expat amount. the people were there for entertainment, not eating. I can't recommend the maintenance. the people mostly knew they were there to watch and encourage friends. very cool, but not for us.

This is a vegan review: la fogata could simply adjust her menu to our vegan diet. we had amazing grilled veggie burritos. nothing included that we could not eat, and no strange look from the waiter. I appreciate that he asked about a cheese. To...I, which shows that they understand vegetarian vs. vegan. we went back in the next night and got the same burritos and added enchiladas to try them. they were also very good. great margaritas too. this place is a little easy inside, but eating is great. I was to open mic night on past trips, and had a great time, but with encoding pandemic, they do not so dinge. this is one of these restaurants that do not go too gringo, and not too local. it is right to give an authentic experience, but with the service expected from a tourist. this is one of our favorite places to eat in los barriles.

We enjoyed coconut shrimp, molcajete bowl, salad, tortilla soup. Friendly service and great drinks on this busy night. Fun atmosphere. We would recommend La Fogata!

Food was okay, service could have been better...keep looking for a better breakfast spot would be our recommendation. On the positive side the host did seat us right under a fan Negative side...he really didn't have to turn the local TV station on the...big screen...we liked the quiet ambiance before he did that!
