フィードバックを提供するOur office wanted a Chinese place close to our office in Downtown LA to entertain a visitor and we were delight to find Peking Tavern. We trusted the reviews and booked a table. The reservation process online was easy to administer and the table was ready for us by arrival. The food itself was amazing. The portions were small for the price (i.e. 6 dumplings/order) though. We tried a variety of dishes and none disappointed. Our gripe was about quickly the food was ready. For a party of 8 and perhaps 10-12 dishes, it took 90 minutes to get everything out. The first dish took 20 minutes to come out and it was the seafood dumplings. The last dish was the veggie dumplings, almost 90 minutes after ordering, to which the server told us it takes the longest to prepare (doesn't make sense). It was unacceptable and no good explanation was given. It embarrassed us. We won't be going back anytime soon. We hope that the speed of service is something that is not normal. The food is terrific but the wait wasn't worth it.
Unusual, but cool-unusual. The lady making the dumplings at the front is fun to watch. I wish they had more food options; however, it is a gastro-pub, so they have a limited menu. The scallion pancakes were delicious. Highly recommend those.
Went back twice. Seems like they run out of menu items but everything was tasty!
I had a great experience at this restaurant, with its delicious dumplings and cozy underground setting. While I personally didn't enjoy the Peking Old Fashioned because of the anise used in their bitters, I really loved the kobe pot stickers. I would definitely consider coming back again!
I discovered a hidden gem of a restaurant off the beaten path, with delicious food and warm hospitality. It may be a bit challenging to locate due to its secluded location, but the search is definitely worth it.
