Katsuya L.a. Live - Los Angeles

I came to this restaurant to wait until my table at Yard House was ready and ended up staying the whole time. I was seated in just 5 minutes and the staff was very friendly. Our waiter, Mike, was extremely attentive. The sushi here is fantastic - everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. I will definitely be coming back here in the near future.

At Katsuya Live, I ordered the Premium Sushi Moriawase, which is a combination of premium nigiri and rolls priced at $55. I received a nice selection of 10 pieces of nigiri and 8 pieces of Toro-Maki. The menu items at this restaurant are on the pricey side due to its location, but I was satisfied with my sushi order. The rolls were mostly filler, but still tasty. The quality of the fish in the nigiri was delicious, with each piece being satisfying. My favorite was the ikura salmon roe. Additionally, I tried the Brussels sprouts and chicken karaage. The karaage was average, but the Brussels sprouts were the best I've ever had. Despite not being a fan of Brussels sprouts, I enjoyed their unique crispy texture. The restaurant also has a unique decor, with robot-themed decorations like gold lacquered robots, robot dinosaurs, and Gundam figures scattered around the space.

The service at this restaurant was excellent from start to finish! The sushi was fresh and delicious. Our waiter, Bar Visitor, was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely return, especially for the octopus and amazing drinks!

Honestly. the parts are small and the escapes were not very kreatiw for a place center dt where all action is.

Horrible service. Our party of 6 waited over an hour and a 1/2 to get food, constantly being bothered by apologies and then a fake offer to comp us an app for the wait. But when our bill came, the app was fully charged! Unbelievable sloppiness and incorrect customer service. Once the food arrived, it was good, but anything's good after a 1.5 hour wait. Small portions too.
