Lunch date with the husband and our 4 month old. Due to the extra precautions on having a little one, we opt for outdoor dining. We actually wanted to hit up another restaurant in the area but all the outdoor tables were taken. We actually heard and read about the market a couple months ago. My husband ordered 3 flat breads, Brussels, and two Izzies off their kiosk. He received a text message that they received his order and another text message about 15 minutes later that his food was ready. Very nicely laid out as noted in my photo. Loved how organized it was. Utensils included. The flat bread were cut in two 4 smaller slices which made sharing more convenient. Highlight was the margarita and also the Brussels. The Brussels were soft and crispy at the same time. The chicken/goat cheese was a bit dry. My husband likes onions so he liked the onion flatbread but I thought it was too overpowering. Izzies were tiny. Overall, delicious and well delivered. A bit on the pricey side though. Not sure if it is worth it.
Fries were good, patty was cooked just as I ordered (medium), but the vegetables kind of ruined the experience. The pickle wasn't juicy or had enough acidity, and I think that made the rest of the vegetables feel not satisfying. One thing to note about this burger is that it does have a horse radish taste to it. I think it's in the aioli, and maybe I should've known, but I was unpleasantly surprised that flavor was in it haha.
Banks Braes is located inside State Street Market in Los Altos. I watched the staff behind the counter working frantically while perusing the food options in the hall. I eventually returned and ordered from the kiosk. I had initially planned on trying the Roast Chicken, but I decided on the B B Cheeseburger with a side of Herb Fries. I took a seat at an empty table. My food was ready in a few minutes. A staff member called out my name and brought me my platter. The Cheeseburger was just right, and the Fries complimented the meal. I will need to try out their Roast Chicken on another visit.
M wife and I split the roast chicken main course. Nice portion size, good plating, pleasant mix of textures. Problem was the center piece. Alough juicy and flavorful with crispy skin, the chicken was almost inedible because it was so over salted.
