I had the brunch so I had a variety of battered, scrambled, sauteed, steamed proteins and vegetables to sample. For my taste they're heavy-handed with salt. You be the judge.
Food was fantastic, clean n great atmosphere. First time trying German anything. Will go back again!
A true hidden gem in Lockhart! Definitely worth the road trip from surrounding cities if you appreciate good food and fresh ingredients. Especially the complimentary homemade Pickle bar! We drove in from Austin and will absolutely make the drive again!
I didn’t hate this place, but I won’t be back. I had no problem using the QR code menu—makes sense for a place that changes its menu often. BUT, it was an odd/eclectic menu with few “standard” lunch items. I struggled to find something on the menu that sounded good to me, and the sandwich I ordered wasn’t bad. The Gonzo was made with good French toast, turkey, provolone, sriracha mayo, and strawberry sauce—think a Monte Cristo without being battered and fried. Sadly, didn’t get the “house made dill pickles” on the side and I think they might have helped. The curly fries were good and my husband and I shared them. He didn’t finish his Market Street Burger, said it had a weird taste, but he couldn’t put his finger on just what was wrong. I think I know: I HATE Brussels sprouts and the whole place smelled strongly of Brussels sprouts. TBH, I almost turned around and walked out because it was so awful! Advice: if you don’t like Brussels sprouts, don’t go.
