We visited here on a Saturday when the antique market was on. It was very busy. We ordered two steaks and two drinks. My steak was lovely, I really enjoyed it. My OH's steak was considerably smaller and full of fat. He was very unhappy with his meal. We kept trying to order drinks, but although our order was accepted the drinks never appeared. We did think it was expensive. The staff were friendly, it was lovely to sit out and look around the market. What I will say in defence of the staff is that we are English, our German is limited, therefore may have been a misunderstanding on both sides regarding the drinks.
I always enjoyed to come at the Markt Cafe. The atmosphere reminds me the cafe's in Paris, delicious toasted sandwich and salads, good wine and coffee and the happy spirit an warm welcoming of Stefan and its staff are making the difference among other places!I recommend it absolutely!
Can you judge a café on just a cup of coffee? Well, you can judge it on its coffee, the service, the ambiance and cleanliness. My wife and I dropped by at the Makt in this very pretty town of Linz am Rhein in April. Not a tourist in sight (except us!). It wasn't warm enough to sit out in the square but inside the café was clean (and so, too, the toilets) and the ambiance pleasant. Most of all the service was excellent. The coffee was good, too.
