Verde Lihue

Kauai is known for its fantastic Mexican restaurants, and Verde certainly ranks among the top five. Situated in one of Kauai's most modern commercial developments, it has a vibe reminiscent of a mainland shopping center, but the food is anything but ordinary. The Mahimahi Furikake Tacos were the best fish tacos I've ever had, featuring Furikake tortillas and cilantro-furikake mahimahi topped with their signature aioli and unagi sauce. I wanted to sample the ube horchata, but unfortunately, they had run out due to the hot weather that day. I definitely need to return to give it a try!

This fast-casual Mexican restaurant is conveniently located near the main train station in Lihue. It was bustling with activity, which is always a positive indicator. The three waitstaff worked together brilliantly as a team. The alcoholic beverages were impressive, and I particularly enjoyed the Mahi Mahi tacos. Just a heads up: all fish dishes are priced at market value, and I think mine was around $18. However, I wouldn’t recommend the tres leches dessert – it was a letdown with its gummy texture, bland taste, small portion size, and high price.

I had a wonderful dinner before my flight! The restaurant is conveniently located near the airport and the service was outstanding. They offered a variety of vegan options, which I really appreciated, and the ambiance was fantastic. I absolutely loved my experience!

We are from Colorado and Tacos are a basic food in our diet, so we decided to stop here and have a taste! Oh, my God! You have a great meal! The best tacos I've had for a long time. Get the Ube tortillas, you won?t regret it! We'll eat here before we go and we'll come back every time!

Limited menu items (post covid) but you still have a good selection to choose from. We had the Beef Nachos, Grilled Shrimp Quesadilla, and Garlic Shrimp Taco. All of these were more than enough for two ppl. Service was quick and good. Atmosphere was nice.
