The staff and the views in the lounge were lovely. A warm, crackling faux fire place made it cosy. However, the food was a real disappointment. I had chicken, rice and veg soup but it was lacking in flavour like it had no stock or herbs/seasoning in it. The waiter was happy to exchange it. I then ordered the prawn Marie sandwich which wasn't much better, I ate it because I was hungry. Any sandwich made with cheap margarine leaves a synthetic taste. The side salad had no seasoning, a watery dressing, again lacking in flavour. My mother in law had the fruit scone, which last week she said was lovely, but today was not good. We did feedback these comments to the staff who were sympathetic and apologetic, but sorry to say we won't be back.

Under new owners. Been a great hotel in the past. Bit rundown. Needing big refurbishment.
