This may not be fine Italian gelato but at least there are good local Brazilian flavors (umbu, siriguela, tropical fruits) to choose from. And you pay by the kilo so it’s a good stop if you just need a little palate cleanser. The owner Thiago is a cool Carioca character who speaks good English. He has some good insight on Lencois and Bahia as well as some interesting perspectives on traveling in Brazil in general. We found ourselves stopping in here even on nights when we’d already had dessert.
