I started with the appetizer of guacamole, queso, and pico de gallo served with chips. The guacamole was excellent, and the queso was enjoyable as well. The pico de gallo, however, was a bit of a surprise; it consisted of halved cherry tomatoes, which wasn’t quite what I expected. It wasn’t really to my taste. For my main dish, I had the Korean BBQ tacos, which were fantastic. The beef was tender and flavorful, and I loved that it was topped with kimchi—definitely a win in my book. However, I felt that the cilantro and creamy sauce slightly overwhelmed the dish. My child ordered a taco with mac and cheese; while the taco was unremarkable, the mac and cheese received a thumbs-up for its cheesy goodness. To end the meal, we indulged in a chocolate cream dessert, which was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening and might be the only reason I’d return in the future. Overall, I’m thrilled to see a new addition to Leland’s food scene.
UPDATE 04/24/2018: Unfortunately, Blue Star has permanently closed due to unforeseen circumstances.
I was thrilled to dine at this great restaurant in Leland that offers some delicious and healthy options. The staff was friendly, and the owner personally thanked us for our visit as we departed. I will definitely be returning!
