What a lovely find in Leiria and our host/chef was delightful but, when the bill came, he had gouged. I hadn’t asked for a menu and we took his recommendation. I’m sure, if he had the chance, he would have charged for the use of the cutlery. Great food but watch what you ask for and have to pay for.

We found this wandering the old town of Leiria and a neighbour in the street said good food. He was right! We had fish curry of the day and the sauce was flavourful yet did not outdo the beautiful skate, cooked to perfection. A melt in the mouth moment. Goan style cooking at its best. Desserts were delicious and the wine chosen by the owner complemented perfectly. Our best meal of the week in Portugal
