He was very rude to a young girl and her baby and didn't have any highchairs available so she had to hold to her for the whole of the Christmas lunch. Its a very small tearoom and the business had clearly overbooked and couldn't seat everybody accordingly so they had to put families together at tables which wasn't ideal. Food is different for different peoples taste but I wouldn't recommend the lunch at all it was flavourless and not not nice. I'd say the staff mainly in the kitchen need to work on customer service skills as how they speak to customers isn't nice and looking at the reviews on here I'm not the only person who thinks so.
We've visited here before for mother's day afternoon tea and always recommended to other families who live on a narrowboat when they are passing by or live nearby but I cannot believe how bad our experience was today! When we arrived as a family of 3 we were told to sit with another couple at their table because they had no more space, the table was barely big enough for 2 people let alone 5 and if you are going to put families together then you should tell them and make them aware when they make their booking and pay £27.50pp well in advance. They prebook for this Christmas event so they know how many people are due to arrive. The man who spoke to us from the kitchen was RUDE and basically said sit there or leave and lose your money. The food wasn't very nice if I'm being honest the mash was packet smash and disgusting, the stuffing was raw and disgusting and the meat flavourless. All in all a waste of an hour and a waste of my money. We will never visit again and certainly will not be recommending to people from now on.
We were walking our dogs and got stuck due to flood water. We stopped for a coffee to plan our exit. We then bumped into the owner who was rude, unfriendly and promptly shut gates in our face and offered us no assistance at all. I wish I had not spent my money in his establishment and will never again.
We sat in the garden with our dogs and had brunch for our youngest’s birthday. Food was great and plentiful. The setting was great for a dog walk afterwards
Unsure about the cost of what we had. Coffee, tea and a slice of almond cherry cake. The slice was small and cost £3.25. Nothing too special. Lovely location though and pleasant when on walk along canal.
