Istanbul - Leicester

We had a wonderful meal at this restaurant again, while dropping our son back to university. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was always bustling. The service was friendly and welcoming, and we particularly enjoyed the Turkish tea and coffee. The portions were generous and the sharer selections were fantastic. We highly recommend this restaurant.

I went to this restaurant for a birthday lunch with my colleagues from the office and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was excellent, the food was excellent, and the prices were very affordable. Claudia was our server and she was very professional and friendly. I will definitely be returning again.

The service and food quality at this restaurant were poor. We received hard bread and when we asked for a replacement, the manager/owner informed us that they had run out of their usual bread and had to purchase it from elsewhere. Despite claiming to be out of normal bread, a teenage couple who arrived after us were served perfectly normal bread. We had to request the salad that was supposed to come with our Chicken Kofte and Shawarma meal, and they forgot to provide us with tap water. We ordered the Istanbul Special Pide based on the waiter's claim that it contained mixed chicken and lamb, but it turned out to be sausage instead. The manager was also impolite when we expressed our disappointment. Although we have visited this restaurant 3 or 4 times before without any issues, this experience was unsatisfactory. We were also disappointed with the smaller portions and bland boiled rice. We did not receive what we expected and had to pay full price, which is unacceptable. Unfortunately, the lowest rating on TripAdvisor is 1 star, but I would not recommend Istanbul Restaurant.

I went to collect my takeaway from Istanbul restaurant,Narborough Road Leicester.Unfortunately,there customer service was really poor who works at the back preparing food for delivery or takeaway.Lady wearing Restaurant uniform,she never says Hi or welcoming or any thanks or please words.no curtesy at all.when I asked for my food the lady didn’t respond at all.just gave me food and gone.its my second times happened.We customers not only paying for the food.we deserve respectful behaviour.

Visiting Leicester today, I have been looking forward to having lunch here again. I really enjoyed it. Freshly baked bread with dips was too delicious! I could have kept on eating it : I had the Beyti with cous cous salad which for me was a really good choice. A turkish coffee, then sadly had to leave as local parking is one hour only, I wish I could find somewhere nearby to park for longer to enjoy a more relaxed lunch. Staff are friendly without hovering over you, and I Love the lanterns : Nest time in leicester, I will be there again .
