It was anything but peaceful; there was constant noise from other campers, and without any greenery between the sites, it was hard to escape the racket. I frequently stay at State and Federal campgrounds, so when a friend invited me to this private campground and I saw the outrageous price of $564 for two nights, I expected something special. However, the walk down to the Eel River was treacherous. The map made it look like a quick stroll, but it turned out to be steep and long, with no warning about the challenging terrain. While the river itself was beautiful, the campground can’t take credit for that. I actually slipped on the way down, even while wearing good footwear. I'm quite frustrated about how much we spent. And then there was karaoke night on Saturday—honestly, why? If you're looking for a quiet escape in nature, this isn’t the place for you. Seriously, consider going to a public campground instead. They are far better maintained, cleaner, more private, and much more picturesque.
We had an amazing camping trip here in our RV! They offer full hookups for RVs, which is a great convenience. The property features a restaurant and bar, a swimming pool, a playground, and much more. Typically, we cook our own meals while camping, so it was a delightful surprise to have a restaurant on-site. Be sure to try the Bigfoot Burger; you won't be disappointed! Overall, I’d rate this experience 5 out of 5 stars.
Great RV Park. Large spaces. Huge Trees. I was in spot 40. When it rains it gets a bit muddy but that was the only downfall having to wipe muddy paws each time going in and out and watch out for ticks. Wi-fi worked well. The pub onsite was open for dinner only this time of year. Tried the Fish and Chips and the BBQ Bacon Burger. While I waited for the take out order I sat and had a Mai Tai the one night and played the table arcade game which is complementary. The drink though was not worth $10. The fish was not bad. Fries good. The next night while I waited I had the Peanut Butter Stout which I really enjoyed and better priced at $6. The burger was pretty good too. If I didn't have an anxiety ridden dog I would have stayed at the pub longer. They have a room with air hockey and other fun games. And a fire outside with a TV and additional seating. Neat atmosphere and nice people. Note, they add 18% gratuity to the bill automatically. They also have a moderate trail down the mountain a bit to the south Fork Eel River. It was doable but I took a few breaks on the way up. Thank goodness they have benches every so often. The bathrooms were fine, showers hot. There is a pool. Wasn't heated when I was there but was open. They have a fort for the kids. Volleyball courts and shuffle boards. There is a store at the office in front that carries various items. Though it's right off the highway it wasn't noisy. They also have cabins and rooms to rent if you don't have an RV. I would stay here again.
This restaurant has a wonderfully cozy and friendly atmosphere. The staff were incredibly kind, making my visit feel warm and welcoming. I dined in their pub, and the food was fantastic as well. The place has a distinct London vibe that really adds to the experience. As for nearby activities, there's a lovely river trail with crystal-clear water that looks beautifully blue.
Very friendly staff and I am sure it will be amazing when things from the storms are cleaned up. I had a nice private spot at the back with full hookups. I really enjoyed the walk down to the river with my dog. It’s steep and we enjoy that. The store and pub were a great addition to our stay. While the damage from storms is being cleaned up I expect some mud and fallen trees.
