Neighborhood Cafe - Lee's Summit

Growing up this was one of my favorite places to eat. Times have changed. Attempted to eat breakfast her today. Walked in and was seated by a young lady(with glasses). I got the feeling that she did not want to be there. After 20 minutes passed we watch multiple people come in and get their orders taken. We sat there for 20 minutes and not one time were we acknowledged by a waitress. Needless to say we got up and left.

I'm a diner person at heart and love nothing more than a good, old fashioned diner experience. Now, I have found one less than a mile from my home. Went in for a quick breakfast and could not have been more pleased with everything about this place. The food was great and very reasonably priced fresh, warm cinnamon rolls at no charge were a wonderful start and the service was as close to perfect as one could expect. Cannot wait to get back and try some of the other breakfast items as well as the many dishes on the lunch menu. Two enthusiastic thumbs up ... and that's because I only have two thumbs!!

We stopped in this morning after an appointment. Michelle was our server and was amazing! We had biscuits and gravy that were delicious. The hostess said that’s her favorite thing so we gave it a try, did not disappoint. The bacon was cooked perfectly too. The complimentary warm cinnamon rolls were a nice surprise and also very good. I’m going to have to bring my husband back down for lunch sometime.

This place hasn't been around for decades by accident. Even tho the owners have changed hands, the food and the recipes haven't. They've remained consistently delicious since the beginning. They serve everyone fresh warm home-made cinnamon rolls as you're seated. The biscuits and gravy are a diner staple, and theirs is top-notch! And oh, the omelets they make... SMH... I can't say enough about how wonderfully they'll put out a delicious breakfast and lunch meal!
