フィードバックを提供するI?ve been eating at Tortas Jalisco for years and I am never disappointed. This is a small family run operation that takes pride in their food and service. Not fancy but really good Mexican cuisine.
It was great! My fiancé and I came here last night for dinner. I got the 4 taco platter and my fiancé got the three taco meal. We also ordered some beers and a margarita. Being attached to a bar I was worried tbh. But the food was great! I got the pastor and my fiancé got the shredded beef. I got two soft shell and two hard shell tacos. After asking for salsa for my tacos. The server informed me that it is a $4 up charge for chips and salsa. (Which I thought was weird at first). Until I tried the sauce! Omg the sauce was amazing. And overall the price isn?t bad! You have the option for add ons. Which cost extra. But even with the weird salsa for your taco charge (which they actually ended up giving us for free. Since it was our first time). It is cheaper than most if not all Mexican restaurants of that quality. Plus if you have young ones who are plain eaters. They offer things like cheeseburgers, mozzarella sticks, wings, and French fries. I would highly recommend to anyone even families. As the restaurant is separate section of the building than the bar it is attached to! Great patio seating also!
Tortas Jalisco has reopened! The restaurant, a fixture in west Lawrence for a number of years, closed several years ago. Now it has opened in a smaller space near Iowa and Ninth Street, across from the park. They now open at four pm with no lunch service. The locale is compact, but comfortable, with an outdoor area. Several of the staff have returned too. The menu while different has a familiar feel. They still have our favorites: tamales, fish tacos, nopalitos, tortas (sandwiches), nachos, and blue corn enchiladas. Great portions with superb flavor. Other favorites too! The chips are still great with superb salsa. And you can't beat the homestyle cooking and superb staff. There is a pickup window and ample parking. It is good to see that they are back! Worth the visit.
Excellent food and great atmosphere. Authentic Mexican food.
The tamales were delicious but quite spicy. I also tried the American-style burrito with Asada, but I wasn't a fan. The Asada resembled ground beef more than anything else, and the burrito didn’t contain much meat. Overall, it was pretty good, and I would definitely order the tamales again.
