Touchdown Club Ii - LATROBE

Service was very good and the prime rib was excellent as usual.

The Touchdown Club is one of the last places you can go and not have to yell over the noise. It's not that there aren't people there, but it is a nice dining room with the feel of a club. There's no gimmicky jangle or music that's overwhelming. The atmosphere is comfortable, the service is top notch and the menu has something to please everyone. It doesn't feel dull or stuffy. It's just right.

We ended up leaving and never even ordered dinner. It was so cold in there and the noise level was so high that we could not hear each other. We graciously told our waitress how uncomfortable we were and that we decided to go elsewhere. She was very nice and understood. We also noticed that the prices had gone up a lot since the last time we were there. We we disappointed, however, because we have always enjoyed the food there.

The prime rib and filet were outstanding. I had the filet and it was perfectly cooked--medium rare. The wine pour was very generous.

If we want to go out for a nice dinner, this is where we go. Always excited to take someone whom has never been there before, because they're always impressed, and say they had no idea how nice it is. They've been able to serve us any drink we've asked for. Servers are so pleasant and patient with us. Salads are so fresh. We've enjoyed everything we have ordered. You must try the Calimari Diablo!
