Dazzling street performers and professional bartenders juggling actual liquor makes for a great time! My guy Biesley even made sure I got home safe. I knew then I 'd always have a good place to stay. Having a room nearby makes it feel like home.
The main issue I encountered was with our room. We arranged for early check-in because we had early flights and were exhausted. They did provide us with a room, but failed to mention that it was directly above the band on Fremont Street! It was impossible to get any rest with the incredibly loud music blasting below us. When we asked for a solution, they offered a credit, which was nice, but they didn't have any other rooms available. They also gave us earplugs, which was a nice gesture, I guess. Overall, it was a mixed experience.
With so many of the casinos and hotels on Fremont making updates and or being new, The D was very dated. Our room was in need of some repairs as well as more plugs. We had very few places to plug in our phones and there were no USB 's. Despite being a corner the view was nothing special and the pool can best be described as sad, although you can use the Pool at Circa. The casino is fine. There are a lot of bar areas and options for watching sports. The horse racing upstairs is fun. It 's a little dark and it lacks flare. In general it just doesn 't stand out comparatively speaking. The one thing the D does that I have referenced several times is the Elevator. Instead of just pushing up or down, you put in your floor and then it tells you what elevator to take. The wait was almost nonexistent.
It's definitely a party club vibe. Dancers throughout casino floor. Slots were paying out on a Thursday. Loved the water fountain at the front of casino. Cocktail waitress were passing through with drinks for players. Loved the music and vibe at this spot!
Review for casino only. This place is the last in Vegas with the old school Derby horse racing game. You bet on mechanical horses to race around a little track and win if your horses win. Each horse has odds for each race and bets can be as low as a quarter. It's way more fun than it sounds, especially when the table gets really into and everyone is yelling and cheering for their horse. It's low stakes too so folks are having fun and talking with each other instead of freaking out that thousands of dollars are on the line. Usually get awesome drink service too. Check this place out for Derby for sure, it's worth the trip downtown.
