Jai Thai - Lara

Perfect for eating in or take away, delicious food, good service. Our favourite restaurant in Lara (followed closely by Indian). Much preferred to the alternative Thai food.

Stopped over here after a day in Geelong. My husband has been here a couple of times previously. The place is lovely and clean and decor is inviting. Staff are friendly. I ordered the green curry (Veg/tofu) with aside of coconut rice and thoroughly enjoy it. Good size serve too. My husband ordered the drunken noodles and he also enjoyed his meal. He also recommends the Tom Yum soup and Pad Thai. Be warned this place gets busy. We dinned on Saturday night but were early in (before 6pm). By the time we left the place was full and take away orders had a hour wait. Yummy food :)

I dined here with a couple of Thai food fans. Entrees were interesting and tasty. Mains were OK but Beef Massaman had too much potato in it and the beef was a little chewy. Flavour was good. The Tom Yum steamboat with seafood was good but the seafood was a little tasteless. Portions are very generous so if sharing, don't over order. We will visit again as there is plenty of staff so service is good and prompt. This was a first visit and I find it takes a while to find each restaurants's specialities.

Have been twice as I was disappointed with my first visit, second one not much better Average Thai at best

Stopping off at Lara for lunch proved to be a surprisingly good experience. The staff are welcoming and efficient and the food was delicious. There is a good variety of options on the menu and the daily specials add to the choice. The restaurant is licenced and provides a good range of options. The place is well fitted out and provides a warm environment. We tried the green curry (delicious and spicy) and prawn spring rolls which were the days' special. Worth a stop to break the trip down the coast.
