La Roma Pizza - Lao Cai

This restaurant is an Italian restaurant in the touristic street of Sa Pa. It s a very good menu, Italian as well vietnamese. The drinks are also good. They have local wines as well international wines. All juices and soft drinks. Great service and the best is the wood burn oven for the pizza.

I got sauteed beef with lemongrass for 75000 dong . It came with rice and it's actually good amount of food. The beef was chewy but I think all the beef dishes I had so far in Vietnam were all chewy. The flavor was good though. Especially after I discovered the chilli sauce they had in the restaurant, the dish tasted very good. All the sauteed dishes were finished so they were good. The mango lassi I got was not my favorite. It gave you a weird after taste and I didn't like the taste of the yogurt that's in the lassi. Maybe they used goat milk or something. My families ordered couple pizzas and pizza came with either a soda or a beer. The pizzas all got positive reviews except for the chicken pizza. It originally came with olive but my cousin didn't want it. The chicken was ground chicken and the crust was crispy and not too doughy. Some people thought it tasted weird after they tasted the other pizza but I thought it was pretty good. The chicken pho was weird though. It's broth was red for some reason and people tasted it said it tasted more like a poorly made Tom Yum soup. The noodles was fat flat rice noodles so it's not the regular pho I know.

The restaurant serve great pizzas, pastas as well as pennes. They got specials now...

The price is average but the problem lies with the food. Everything I ordered is either too sour or too sweet. The pork ribs is fried not grilled like describe and half of the ribs is made of fat. Despite being a Italian restaurant, the cooking style is obviously Vietnamese and not a good one. Nevertheless the service is not bad, the staff apologise when the ribs came out raw at first.

Hands down, the best pizza I had in my 27 years running the earth. the Asian dishes are also legit! (friederreis, sauteeder pork pfeffer) it is perfect for any group or person.
