フィードバックを提供するI'm just getting home from my work trip and I'm still thinking about my dining experience at the Pressroom. Our service was fantastic. My coworkers and I were in town for work and stopped by your establishment. Doug was our server. He was probably the best Server I've ever had. He walked through every part of the menu, was incredibly conversational, and made us laugh the entire time we were there. I had the crabcakes and they were delicious. And he did not lie when he said that the charcuterie board was definitely worth the money. We will definitely be back the next time. We are in town. Kudos to Doug and the restaurant for such a great experience.
The Pressroom was the gem I stumbled across passing through Lancaster back to Philly for a flight home from a work trip and WOW was I happy to find this place. The warm ambiance on a cold night was inviting and I took the chance. I sat at the bar as it was a quiet week night and I arrived as dinner service just began for the night (around 5pm). The bartender was friendly and concocted the best surprise cocktail I have ever had, a subtly sweet and floral gin drink. He also went above and beyond as I was really wanting the Ossobuco but I believe with the prep, it usually cannot start being served til 6pm. I was going to settle for the burger but after a trip back to the kitchen he was able to secure the Ossobuco and it was absolutely amazing, is the picture doesn't speak for itself!
I have been here once before when it was under old ownership and I absolutely loved it! Upon hearing not so great reviews, my husband and I decided to try here last night and formulate our own opinions. Well.. what a mistake. I can assure you I will never go back unless several things change. First, the place itself is absolutely amazing. It is so aesthetically pleasing. I do feel like the tables and such could be arranged a bit different to optimize space. The hostesses were very friendly and we we were sat promptly at our reservation time. The older woman was just so friendly and made a great first impression. Our server was Brooklyn, and while she was nice, that 's where it stops. She didn 't seem to know much about the menu. I even asked about specials and she said there were no food specials. Yet, there 's a rotating soup, which I had to ask about. She was not very attentive to us in the least bit. I had to physically push empty glasses and dishes to be cleared. Drinks: The server couldn 't suggest any bourbons so my husband just got his Manhattan as they were made. The drinks took an eternity each time. We actually received our apps prior to our drinks. This is certainly an issue in the industry. While I would have enjoyed more than two glasses of wine in the two hours I was there, that obviously didn 't happen. Also, wowza are they overpriced. Food: not even remotely impressed. $70 on two appetizers and let me tell you how meek and disappointing they were. The oysters were so small and only offered one sauce (maybe also have a cocktail sauce). The cheese and charcuterie board was probably the worst one I 've seen in any restaurant ever. There were a few olives thrown on there with some crostini. Lacking in the meat and cheese variety. Also the presentation wasn 't appealing. The cheese was cut poorly and didn 't go well with the meat and crostini. My husband and I didn 't love our meals. It lacked flavor and the sides were laughable. My salad had huge chunks of pickled onion. The cheesecake wasn 't bad and was probably my favorite part. However, it would have went well with my espresso that took about 15 min to try and I got it AFTER my dessert. Prices: I 'm sorry but I had a better meal at Josephine 's the other week for $100 more. I don 't mind paying for excellent food but please ... the portions were laughable and the food tasted meh. Work on adjusting your prices as this is nowhere close to 401 prime or Josephine 's. Kitchen: if you have an open kitchen, I suggest wearing gloves. I witnessed a gentleman touching everything and then the food and then back to other things. First, that 's disgusting and second that 's one way to increase an incident regarding food allergies. Overall, I will not be back. This place has so much potential and coming from this industry I was rather disappointed. Save your money and your time to checkout another local place.
We just had a drink each yesterday. The bartender made a perfect pear cocktail and old fashioned with knob creek rye. Delicious!
I had never been to the Pressroom before they reopened so I have no point of reference but this isn't the place. Loud drunks at the bar and underwhelming food. I got the Mac and cheese which was noodles in a soupy cheese sauce with shredded parm on top. The flavor was good, but it was just kind of embarrassing. They had a banger peach cider on tap which was amazing but that's the only thing I'd recommend.
