They 're also open only 3-4 days a week.<br/ <br/ I was out for a walk on Good Friday, and stumbled in to Grand Tang. I 'd been there before years ago, back when they had an Americanized Chinese menu, so I was quite surprised to discover a Chinese-only menu. Still, I was open to trying something new.<br/ <br/ The lady up front helped me choose this delicious lamb noodle dish. I regret I don 't remember the Chinese name, but imagine an Italian pasta dish that 's also a stir-fry lamb dish in a slightly spicy tomato sauce. It was exactly what I didn 't know I wanted. : <br/ <br/ I 'm excited to go back. If you don 't mind a bit of a language barrier, I think there 's some good food to discover here.
Best northern Chinese food in town.Get fried tofu and the chilli fried chicken
Mildly surprised!. We're still looking for a good Chinese restaurant in London, and we've tried many of the recommendations we've received and have been unimpressed with them.<br/ <br/ Living in the NW of the city, we don't have too many options with regards to Chinese food, but I ended up at Grand Tang after doing a quick search on the Urbanspoon app.<br/ <br/ The restaurant is tucked away in the small plaza by the Sears Outlet and when I arrived I was greeted and made to feel very welcome by the owner. I was ordering takeout and not having been before, elected to do the Dinner for Four. He then took me through the choices that were included to make sure I knew what was in the dinner, and he suggested a couple of substitutions when I mentioned I'd like a noodle, etc.<br/ <br/ He was super friendly.<br/ <br/ I paid, left and returned after 30 minutes to be greeted by two large bags of food! Again, the owner was very chatty and very friendly.<br/ <br/ The food itself was very good!<br/ We had:<br/ <br/ 4 spring rolls crunchy and fresh<br/ <br/ Sweet and Sour Chicken balls they contained REAL chicken pieces and did not look like the standard fare served everywhere else, the sauce was NOT that industry strength glutenous mess : <br/ <br/ Chicken fried rice was one of the best I've had in the city.<br/ <br/ Beef in Black Bean Sauce delicious a tad on the salty side, but nothing that couldn't be tempered.<br/ <br/ Beef with Noodles loved it.<br/ <br/ Chicken Chow Mein their Chow Mein is more beansprout based (as explained by the owner, and why we swapped out the Beef with Noodles instead of the Sweet and Sour Pork <br/ <br/ All in all, we really enjoyed the food. The portions were huge and easily served 4 hungry mouths. All for a reasonable $45!!<br/ <br/ Next time we'll be ordering more a la carte but this will become our go to Chinese for now.
Flavourful, generious portion and great service. It is hard to go in and come out with an empty belly. The price is good for the portion and for the quality of the food. The atmosphere is pretty quite and relaxing, you will never feel like you're being rushed. Will recommend to people who are trying to find some good chinese food in London
