Oki Japan - Lakewood

Disclaimer, we only come here for Teriyaki chicken and beef. As long as you don't mind a 15-20 minute wait for your food, Oki Japan is a great meal. Keep in mind that they cook the meats when you order, hence the waiting times. But like others say, if you prefer food that may have been sitting under warming lights for a while, that have more sugar and starch to them then Panda Express is directly across the way. I'm not saying I don't eat Panda, but I find Oki Japan to be a cleaner leaner option, when I'm not seeking a gut bomb.

Ordered chicken teriyaki and a California roll which came to $12 and change. I was disappointed by everything individually including the 'vegetables ' (aka cabbage) that came with the teriyaki. The chicken was more fried than grilled and super crunchy and much too salty. I 'm not even sure if there was teriyaki sauce on it I assume it was cooked in teriyaki sauce because none was visible on the food and I was not about to ask for sauce considering it was already too salty. The California roll was mediocre at best. The rice of the roll was oddly warm which was off-putting. I do like that they use the pink ginger.

Chicken is okay for the price but my girlfriend said it was good. A little overpriced. You get one item for almost $8, where in other places you get 2 items. I ordered some sushi but was very disappointed. It was a tiny tube sized roll. Almost buffet sized. I asked for a water cup like i always do and I usually get no complaints. I asked for 2 water cups and only got one. She tried to charge them as water bottles.

I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken with Rice and a Gatorade (which they charged way too much for—Target is just down the walkway). It was some of the worst I've ever had. The sauce was overly salty, the chicken was fatty, and the rice was dry. The food felt rushed as well. I'm really disappointed that I spent $14 here.

I’ve only tried the chicken teriyaki plate, and it’s delicious! You can request extra sauce for $0.50, but I think the amount they provide is just right. The customer service is decent, but I’m mainly there for a tasty meal. Each week I’ve visited has been great. They really work hard to get your food to you quickly.
