Describing the pizza as bad would actually be an understatement. My wife suggested we get Costco pizza, and I really should have taken her advice. The photos don’t accurately depict the quality of the pizza. I've had frozen pizza from the grocery store that was far better. The ingredients were subpar, the dough was lacking, and it was excessively salty.
After the housewarming, I was ready to kick back on the couch in my sweats, with no intention of moving or cooking. I was in the mood for some comforting soup-like dish without settling for bland hospital food (looking at you, Panera). I didn't want ramen or mac and cheese either, so Italian seemed like the way to go. Since we live in Lake Zurich, I wanted to try a local spot that wouldn’t require too much social interaction—I'm a bit drained from people right now. That's when I discovered DiPerios. I had seen the restaurant earlier that day while having breakfast with my sister, and thought perhaps they had something good. And oh boy, did they! Their menu is packed with Italian delights, but what really caught my eye was the baked gnocchi. I mean, come on—tiny baked potato-pasta nuggets in a zesty Italian sauce topped with Parmesan and gooey, melty mozzarella? I was sold instantly. So, I placed my order, and about 45 minutes later, the food arrived at my door. There was no one to greet me, no signatures required, and thankfully no awkward small talk—just a seamless delivery that allowed me to comfortably nestle back into my blanket fort on the sofa while enjoying my documentary without worrying about an encounter that would leave me overthinking it later (it's a bit of a quirk of mine; we’re working on it in therapy). The food was PIPING hot and smelled incredible. The bread that came with it was crispy and felt fresh out of the oven when I broke into it. The gnocchi was firm and absolutely delicious!
I mostly use the Deperios take out for their pizza and their muffalata sandwiche which is delicious.I was only to the restaurant once Good food good service reasonably priced
The Thin Crust Dipiero's Special is one of the best pizzas I have ever had.
