10/10. The food was fantastic! Additionally, the staff were wonderful! Even though we were all adults, they engaged with us and made us feel like kids again. It was pure joy. Food rating: 5/5.
**Food and Service:** Our dinner reservation was at 4:30 PM, just ahead of the dinner rush. For the first part of our meal, the atmosphere was quite peaceful, but by 5:30 PM, the restaurant quickly filled up. The waitstaff and our server were exceptional, providing the high level of service one would expect from Disney. Our waitress, Jelly, was not only friendly but also wonderfully efficient. She kept us updated on when characters would be making their rounds. As for the food, while the price is on the higher side at approximately $55 per person, the variety and quality of the offerings place it among the top five dining experiences in the Disney parks. The buffet featured an impressive selection, including fresh salads, hot dishes, delightful desserts, and a dedicated bread station. There was even a small carving station, which on our visit offered succulent pork and beef/lamb shawarma, along with a setup for creating pita sandwiches. The cuisine primarily reflects African influences but there truly is something for everyone. Being a buffet catering to large crowds, it's understandable that some items might be a bit dry or unevenly seasoned at times. However, we didn’t have any major complaints about the quality of the food. For a buffet, it was very well executed. **Overall Value:** If you’re looking for good unlimited food combined with character dining, this experience is undeniably worth it—definitely a 10/10 in my book!
Good food for both foodies and picky eaters!Tusker House is a character dining restaurant that is served buffet style. The offerings here are well balanced with African fare, as well as simple foods like a salad bar, Mac n cheese, and roasted chicken. Some of my favorites were the black eyed pea salad, the za'tar braised beef, and the harira soup. Everything was seasoned to perfection and my kids were happy with the corn dogs, mashed potatoes, and Mac and cheese. Being lactose intolerant, I did wish there were more than one offering of dairy-free desserts. Pro-tip: make a breakfast reservation for 10:30/10:45 and you can enjoy both breakfast and lunch items and be charged the breakfast price.
A buffet in Animal Kingdom that offers character meet and greets. I'd recommend booking a reservation around 10:30 AM, so you can enjoy both the breakfast and lunch menus (breakfast ends at 11), although I'm a larger fan of the breakfast options. It's labelled as an African restaurant when there's only a few African dishes. Most of the food are typical American dishes, with a few curries, salads, and pita breads. Overall, the food is great and the service is fantastic, with a variety of options. Their POG juice is delicious! But it is Disney prices of $45 per person, so take that into account! They also have an allergy and gluten-free pamphlet for each meal that is really useful to knowing which foods one can eat.Dietary restrictions: For dietary restrictions and allergies, they provide a comprehensive guide
