フィードバックを提供するThis restaurant was close to our apartment and we had noticed very few diners there, probably because it is in a back street. However we noticed an attractively priced set menu so went ahead. We had the chef to ourselves and enjoyed an excellent fish course,a carafe of wine between 3,a choice of desserts, not to mention the bread and olives to start and coffee to finish. Well worth it!
We arrived at this fish restaurant to find that they only had fish for a handful of people. The fish looked dull and not at its freshest. As the choice was so limited we opted for 2 starter portions of fried prawns while we decided on our next move for dinner. The prawns were average and few in number and extremely expensive for the number we had. All in all our experience was extremely poor, having enjoyed meals there in the past we certainly will not be returning
Last night of second stay of the Winter/early Spring was spoilt by a really poor meal. We thought that trying somewhere new rather than the regular haunts in Lagos would be a good idea. We were wrong. The location is not in the tourist areas but we have been to many similar restaurants in the area and really enjoyed them. A lot of items on the menu were off . The place was empty we should have left as Lagos was heaving. I ordered some form of fried fish. It was tasteless overcooked to be close to oblivion. The accompanying tomato rice resembled a tennis ball in consistency. It was not meant to be sticky it just was. My wife had salmon (well it is allowed in the Algarve). It was served with frozen Brussell Spouts. No further comment necessary. I have written very few bad reviews and do not like doing it but it was bad and that was that. House wine v nice to end on a positive note.
Nice food, nice location, well presented and well mannerd waiter, even gave us a fish cheese? to sample dessert made with figs and almonds was delicious then told us his boss mother had made them will definitely be going back.
This was a longtime cafeteria/breadshop until a recent change of ownership and now serves local fish, claiming to be fresh. The display fridge shows exactly what is available, but most of this is at price by weight. I know this puts a lot of tourists off, but actually, the 380g Sea bass we had worked out at a reasonable '€8.50. Of course you then add the cost of potatoes and salad, if you want, which takes it to just over the average price for a sea bass meal, but this fish was very fresh and a good size. Sardines were expensive at €9.00 for 6 plus sides, but then sardines are more expensive this year. They were average size and we 'll grilled. The first portion of chips were not good, dark, greasy, and reheated, but a second plate came which were altogether fresher. Service was good with a smart English speaking young man doing the work. I then recognised the management who were walking in and out, and they also run the car wash downstairs, a new venture. Perhaps business would improve with a free car wash while you eat! A smart enough place, but needs to improve by offering more complete dishes, and some specials. I hope it succeeds, but needs to get a good reputation before it is forced to start cutting staff and corners to keep the price down. We too were given some complimentary fig cheese (NOT fish cheese! which was a nice ending.
