Very tight with the guac on the nachos and sour cream. Service was excellent and the waitress was very friendly. While I has paid $20 (with tip) for an enchilada plate, or an order of nachos, the price should match the flavors. That wasn’t my experience at Tampico’s. Gave it a shot, but not ready to return any time soon.
My sister and I went to see a friend perform in the bar area. It's a great little venue for live music. The salsa is delicious and served warm—so yummy! The food was very good as well. We had a wonderful time hanging out.
This is the best Mexican cuisine I've ever experienced. I've been coming here for about 30 years, and I haven't found anything better anywhere else.
The drinks were excellent, the food was delicious, and I didn't have to wait for a table at all!
I want to start by mentioning that I’m from Arizona and have enjoyed Mexican food my whole life. Until now, I only found decent Mexican cuisine in Arizona or New Mexico. However, I was pleasantly surprised by Tampico's. Their salsa is excellent—flavorful with just the right kick, allowing you to appreciate the taste without overwhelming heat. It’s also the only salsa I’ve ever had served warm, which is a fantastic idea! I ordered the grilled fish, which was great, and the sauce that accompanied it was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Overall, my meal was one of the best Mexican dinners I’ve ever had. If I’m ever in Lafayette again, I will definitely return!
