Holiday Inn Express Suites La Porte, An Ihg

Seems like a new build. Across the way from a beautiful lake. We really enjoyed staying. The front desk personnel helped us find a number of things including dining and shopping. We will stay again.Rooms: Seems like it is fairly new. Very clean.Nearby activities: A lot of outdoor activities.Safety: One feels very safe here.Walkability: A lot of paths for walking or hiking.

Clean rooms. Modern updates. Full Buffet Breakfast. Easy Access. This is a very nice scenic location along the lake. There is a slip/harbor by the water. Plenty of top notch Restaurants around the area. The area is safe.Rooms: 5/5

Wonderful weekend experience from this hotel stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Our room was beautiful and so so comfortable. The complimentary breakfast has a large variety of breakfast food to choose from, and I was very fond of the pancake machine which makes delicious pancakes two at a time.

The employee of the month for March 2023 is a real treat. Nothing makes traveling better than waking up to confrontation every morning over grabbing a banana before the breakfast area is open. I guess it's the only control she has over anyone in her miserable life so I'll let it go. Other than that the place was great!!Rooms: 5/5

Unfortunately our stay here was not good at all. The customer service was great up until I shared my experience with the company about my stay there and they did not offer me any solutions; just that they apologize that our stay was as bad as it was: We were renting the hotel for my child 's birthday. Upon checking into the first room 222 we checked the pull out mattress because my child wanted to sleep on it per their request when booking the hotel. There were blood stains on the pull out couch. We did a quick search around the room and it looked like more blood stains on the wall. This is a biohazard! We quickly exited the room and asked to be moved to another room hoping that was just a major fluke. The second room was right across from the pool. The pull out mattress had no blood stains, but there were definitely stains as well as Doritos on that couch which tells me these couches are not being properly cleaned if at all. We again exited the room and went back down again for a final try.. Honestly scared at this point to look into another room. They did apologize and gave us their best room.. but their best room was also less than that. It was room 202 and did have a nice extra room for cake ect; but the entire room had a lingering smell of strong cigarette smoke. As someone who doesn 't smoke this smell was rather strong. At this point we are going on 5 o 'clock from a 3:30pm check-in and suck it up to enjoy the birthday we so heavily planned. The pool was the cleanest part of the stay. The breakfast in the morning had a nice selection but the lady working the kitchen kept hovering over our table to grab the salt and pepper shakers so she could finish her shift and made us quite uncomfortable. Overall, given the lack of customer service after notified how unpleasant our stay was I am graciously giving this hotel 2 stars. I do not recommend it to others in the area and do advise if you want a clean place to lay your head this is not it. To add: they blocked my other Facebook page so I could not repost my review after I realized that it had copied wrong from Google. I had to sign into my old account just to post this review.
