We had a fantastic experience after a 4 hour hike in the Natural Parc of Serra de Montsant. Our group of 5 had little expectation for lunch, and landed in the more than capable and welcoming hands of owner/chef couple Maria and Federico Maria recommended an excellent local white wine from a producer whose vines we had just walked past (Priorat whites are less known outside the region due to the limited production). The food was excellent we are well travelled and have been to many excellent restaurants around the world and in Spain. Maria and Federico have created a hidden gem excellent food, great local produce, with a focus on letting the produce shone through. The Duck and Maroon terrine was excellent, as was the slightly barbecued cogollas salad, and the steak tartare of local cow. The gambas carpaccio was to die for. And I could go on and on. The desert were also great, from the very tasty Pan de Chocolate to the goat milk cheese cake. While we had excellent food in the Priorat, and stayed at the best hotel, this restaurant stole the show, and Federico and Maria are to be commended. A highlight of our trip, well worth the visit.
