Service was good and it's a decent place. The sushi and cocktails were just average.
I came in on Friday night. a red headed girl lindsay was training a new girl (i believe her name was erin) and their service was fantastic. being Friday it was fairly busy but they somehow managed to give me excellent service. I highly recommend nozomi for all future sushi needs. five stars.
Calamari and spicy mayo was awsome. Great ambiance. Teriyaki salmon was to perfection as was surf and turf roll.
Yes! Yes! and Yes! If I can give a 5* , Nozomi would be the first recipient of such prestige. I have a lot of different favorite sushi restaurants and all for a variety of reasons. But after visiting Nozomi, I can confidently say that of all my favorites, this is my FAVORITE! The atmosphere? Love. The service? Top Notch. The food? Nom! Nom! Nom! I had a meeting in the OC one day and while making my way back to DTSD, I decided that I had sat in traffic long enough and needed to get my grub on. Making an exit off the 5 at Carlsbad Village Dr, I venture not more than 3 blocks before I find what would be my ultimate dreamland of raw fish, rice, sake, and seaweed. After a quick consult with my yelp app, it appeared to be a safe choice. As it turned out safe was a drastic understatement. This place is HEAVENLY! I walked in and was greeted by an incredibly gorgeous host. Like smokin ' hot, ladies and gentlemen tall, dark, and handsome hot. But I digress. The restaurant is multi level giving it a dimension that makes you feel you really have just stepped into another realm, or maybe just Japan. I 've never been to Japan, but the décor definitely makes me feel like that 's where I was. It just exuded authenticness. On the first floor, there is the cutest little indoor pond with a few turtles swimming about. There was no one dining in that area, but it was definitely set up to accept patrons. It looked like this would be a cool spot for a large party or a private event. The second floor, was the welcome area and the third floor was apparently where the party was. I was dining solo and asked to be seated at the sushi bar. The restaurant was lively and bustling, but not obnoxiously overcrowded. After being seated and providing my drink order (Sake. Obviously. I perused the menu. I decided on the jalapeño poppers (stuffed with spicy tuna and cream cheese! and the Hula Roll (Shrimp tempura, crab and avocado roll topped with spicy tuna with crushed macadamia nuts . OH. MY. GOODNESS! Was I just super hungry? Or was that pretty much the best meal I 've ever had in the history of ever! So fresh and full of flavor and texture. It was just a full on party explosion of deliciousness in my mouth. Just all around Yes! The sushi chef, Pancho, was so much fun to chat with and just delivered superb service. I mean he managed to keep me entertained and stay fully focused on his art/task at hand. His passion was obvious and evident in his work. You can tell he was just so rightfully proud of each and every masterpiece he produced. I had an incredible dining experience at Nozomi and can 't wait for the next time I 'm stuck in traffic (wink, wink so I can go back and try everything else on their menu and catch up with my new pal, Pancho!
