This white baruk stands majestic along the Sarawak river and is hard to miss the unique cylinder structure. There is a restaurant and Gloria Jean coffee inside and open to the public. Sometimes events take place. However, the White Baruk still serves as one of the beautiful icons of Kuching. I hope someone will keep this for the coming years.
Lively during the night, bit during the day the menu is limited
Open hours is not as stated in Google. Went for dinner, restaurant looked opened with staffs and all but they said its closed. Try calling before planning to dine here especially in this pkpp season.
I liked this restaurant. I usually loathe to dwell on price unless a restaurant is particularly well or badly priced. This restaurant to me represents good value for money though. I order both the Lok Lok soup and chicken chop. Neither dish were fine cuisine. But the restaurant didn't advertise itself that way so I have no problem with it. The portions sizes for both dishes were good and me and my dining partner were full. The chicken chop was cooked well, and not dry, which is no mean feat because it was all breast meat. The fries were very respectable, not soggy and just salty enough. The Lok Lok was comprised entirely of cheap meat, but that is what the dish is. It's like how hot dogs are cheap. It's just the essence of the dish. The Lok Lok was filling and salty and good. Exactly how it should be. Both dishes came to about 35 ringgits in total. Considering you get a great view of the Waterfront, and the service is speedy, efficient and unfussy, I have very little wrong to say about this place. They should keep it up.
