Casa Don Gallo - Knoxville

The food was excellent! The waiter was attentive at first, but we didn't see him again midway through our meal. We requested more salsa, but it never arrived. Eventually, we had to track him down for our check. While I was really impressed with the food, the service left something to be desired.

The food was great, but the service left a lot to be desired. It seemed our waitress was inexperienced, and assigning her to a table of 14 may have been a mistake. After asking for my bill five times and still being overlooked, I was forced to go find her in order to settle up. We were there for a work event, and I hope that if we return, the service will be more efficient.

I give this restaurant three stars mostly because of the ambiance. We ordered the jumbo house margaritas during happy hour—22 oz for $6.50, which is a good deal. Unfortunately, they tasted more like limeade and water, and I couldn’t taste any tequila at all. I chose the veggie enchiladas but was really disappointed; the vegetables were undercooked, lacked flavor, and the tortillas seemed boiled. A friend ordered the veggie quesadilla and had a similar experience. On the bright side, the service was good and friendly. However, the food and drinks left a lot to be desired. The chips, though, were fantastic—thin and crispy!

Tonight, we had the pleasure of being served by Simon, and I can't express how wonderful our dinner and evening were! We absolutely plan to come back! Thank you, Simon—you’ve turned us into regulars!

We visit this place frequently and consistently enjoy excellent service, delicious food, and refreshing drinks. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The margaritas are fantastic!
