The food was amazingly authentic and served in a well paced manner. The table service made us feel like we were family. Not to be confused with a restaurant to visit if you happen to be in the Sussex area, it is a destination spot for anyone touring or living in New Brunswick!
Surprising, authentic, German food and beer in an authentic building. My craving for Schnitzel and Spätzle was certainly satisfied here. It's an enjoyable rural drive of 45 minutes from Moncton. Our group of 4 all tried different things, and all were enjoyed. Fun to notice the cute little boy photo on the wall that now was our tall handsome server.
Having ate and drank my way through Germany for more time and budget than I care to recount, it was an especial stab in the side to find such an amazing gem so close to home in NB. The food was wonderful and brought me right back.
Went to this out of the way restaurant as I saw it here on yelp and was craving German food. Having spent 6 years living in Germany I can tell you that this is authentic and very good Bavarian style food. Excellent service and an atmosphere straight out of Germany. Would highly recommend well worth the detour.
A friend suggested we eat here on a motorcycle ride on a nice September saturday. The place is out in the beautiful country side on the kinghtsville rd near sussex. My buddy swears by the pork hock. He was very sad when he ordered the pork hock but was told it is is sold out for the next two weeks. It must be a great meal! We both ended up ordering the October fest platter. It was good. I Liked the variety of tastes. There was potato salad, mashed potatoes, green beans, sauerkraut, purple canbage, coleslaw, cucumbers, pork chop, sausage, schnitzel, soup, bread, almost everything. The quality was top motch and everything was very fresh. Large portion. Note to self: order pork hock in advance for the next visit
