271 West Restaurant - Kitchener

Ate dinner tonight at 271 West and really enjoyed our pastas! The restaurant is family run and everyone was very friendly, they made us feel welcome and important. My gnocchi was amazing! My husband had the sausage pasta and really enjoyed it and creme brulee to finish was so yummy! Everything was homeade and the prices were good. Definitely worth the trip!

Another excellent meal. Ingredients are fresh and local purchased that morning at St Jacob's Market. We had the salmon which was purchased that morning from Caudle's Catch. It was cooked and presented perfectly. We also had the pasta of the day which had chicken, peppers, cauliflower, spinach and more. The ingredients combined to bring a excellent taste to the pasta. This is a locally owned business and they take a lot of pride in what they serve. They get fresh local ingredients and cook them up simply and deliciously. The service and atmosphere add to the excellent experience.

Best restaurant ever! This is now my go to place family owned the nicest family you could ever meet. Welcomed with a smile and very warm greeting. When you leave they thank you for coming and open the door as you leave. They ask if you have been there before and if you haven't they explain their food is all fresh and bread made from scratch also pasta is made by hand on premises. If you have been there before they recognize you when you come back. They hAve a daily pasta special and you can change aNY of the items in the pasta and substitute it for something you like. They also will add items no extra charge. Also you can change the sauce the white wine cream sauce is time die for. Also you never have to request water they are always on top of filling your water glass. I love the chicken champignon it comes with rice but I always substitute for mashed potatoes and that has mushrooms with a white wine cream sauce on top it's delicious. Their bruschetta is to die for they make the bread for that also. Also the appetizer with cheese and caramel is fabulous to. Desserts all fantastic. They make every customer feel special. They are so kind and warm and an example of this is if they have leftover food in kitchen at end of night they know some homeless people and they take care of them and pass that food after closing to them. Now that is a family with great hearts they think of others. So please go and eat at this restaurant you will have a great experience. WARM, FRIENDLY, GREAT FOOD AND FRESH FOOD AND FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE.

We dined with family at this fine restaurant and were greeted warmly by Z, the affable proprietor who seated us a comfortable table for four. He then politely asked if he could recite the specials for the evening and graciously offered to accommodate any special needs or requests. A staff member then promptly served us water while we were perusing the menu. There is a small, but agreeable wine list with many options by the glass with very reasonable pricing. In fact there were three white wines from PEI, which you don't see often in Ontario, Try one of the many salad starters from Greek, Caesar, Mediterranean, Spinach or House, all available in small or large formats. Our table choose the Caesar with was crisp, ample and tasty! The specialty here at 271 West is pasta: fresh with multiple shapes and sizes with many sauce options to choose with your meat or fish. Our selections ranged from the special of Chicken with Pasta in a blush sauce to my grilled shrimp and chicken in a light red sauce over linguine. We were all in agreement- the pasta was al dente, the mains were tasty and we were quite satisfied with the portions, presentation and execution! Prices are quite fair for the quality of the dishes, with the mains not exceeding $22.00. Unfortunately, we didn't have time for dessert, but will make certain we do the next time we visit. Service was efficient and friendly throughout our experience at this fine dining establishment. 271 West should most definitely be high on your list for your next outing! Very Highly Recommended!

A few weeks ago my boyfriend and I went to this restaurant, spur of the moment and without a reservation. We were greeted with a big smile and warm hello and immediately seated at one of the best tables in the whole place. Our server was fantastic (I'm sorry I can't remember a name), he was very courteous (as were all he staff). Our food was to die for. I had homemade pasta, and I just could have eaten that for the rest of my days and I can't wait to go back for more!It's a family run establishment, and it's beautiful! Highly recommend!!
